Future: 2050

The Future Awaits Us!

'The science of today is the technology of tomorrow", said Edward Teller, a well-known theoretical physicist. But in these words, what does tomorrow signify? Is it a mere conjecture of the probable happenings of the future, or perhaps an upcoming alien invasion? Whatever it stands for, we do know for a fact that the future withholds what we fantasize for today. Presently, the materialistic ventures of human beings have amassed to a toxic aura of manipulation, added to the cloaked presence of go-getters. Yet, political pursuits and a change of economy are at the top of this social food chain.

It has been fifty years to the first man on the Moon, and our objectives have been increasing by a manifold. According to me, it is not the future for which we should worry, but instead, we should be on guard for not being able to limit expectations in all dimensions. 2050 is not far, it is merely 30 years ahead and it might be jaw-dropping to realize that it is the same time gap as that of between 1990 and today. Has much changed since then? And in the next thirty years? Well, yes, it is very much possible that we might have trekked the Moon once again, or that we might be packing for our trip to Mars, but still trying to fit our clothes into that one, rugged suitcase, or still trying to figure out the best speakers to listen to our favorite evergreen music on are a few habits that are going to remain the same.

Everything will change. It definitely will. As for me, I’d be in my late forties and a part of the then expected 10 billion population. We look forward to accomplishing everything there is to, but the generation doesn’t realize that in the future, it would not be much about succeeding, but more about surviving. Money and power won’t be the measuring scale for success. Population issues will increase, and we will be fighting tooth and nail for that last sip of water. Can I change the world? Yes, I can, and I will, but in a yet smaller group called the youth where I confront all the ideas that will bring about a leap in our journey. Astronomy being my passion, I am aware that migrating to Mars would not be a leisure, but a necessity. The ‘compassion’ we have shown towards the environment, will dreadfully fight us back. We will be at a war, outside, and definitely with ourselves. Politics’ arduous processes and ambitions will be accomplished, but at the cost of those that nurture us.

My idea is not associated with a shrugged contempt, but with a relentless effort. Technology will have advanced me and all of us to the level that it would not be just about toying with social media posts and likes anymore. The world will stand united, and fight together. My vision towards the new world would be consistent as it is right now, and my unyielding persistence might pay off some day as I do not want the negative to take over. For a cause worth fighting for is all that I will carry with me.

Thank You.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, name a few things you would bring.

Perhaps, the most frustrating/asked question in high-profile interviews. Like, come on, first of all, I would never know that I am going to be stranded on a deserted island. I'll never be like, "Oh! I am going to be stranded on a deserted island, let me take my puppy with me." And even if so, I would never have the time to take things with me. The only answer I could think of  is something that could save my life. Anyways, let me throw some light on the things people usually say- Mobile Phone - Oh great! First of all, would you be able to establish a connection? What will happen after a day's battery? What if your phone is full of water from the sea? But no, they want to click selfies on the island with the caption, "Oh no! Stranded on a deserted island! #boring" 📱 My Kindle - Okay, that's fine, maybe you want to read on how to survive on a deserted island. But, if they ask you to have something else besides your Kindle, where will you get
