Being a Fresher in a New School

When you are in primary school, being a new admission is a 'sense of achievement'. Everyone wants to make you their friend. But honestly, this is just primary school, everything changes as you move into the elementary level. Everyone has grown by then, everyone has a group of friends. But baby, you got to take a deep breath. This is just the beginning. I moved to a new school, due to my dad's transfer. Oh, the farewell I got on my last day of the previous school, hands up, was one of THE best days of my lives. The days after it, when I left the school, all I was left was with the hormones of my teenage days jumping on my head, making me even more frustrated with each passing day, and trust me, when something jumps on your head, it hurts. I was scared, but at the same time, excited for the first day at the new school. Well, this blog also gives an idea about how a typical day at an Indian school is. I had seen my school before, when I went for an admission test, but that just gave me a view of the entrance and the library where I gave the test. I was desperate for that day to come. And finally, it came.

THE FIRST DAY AT AN ALIEN SCHOOL
It started off at a good note, my mom dropped me off to school. The buildings of my school were quite big. When I reached the reception of my school, I found the look of the receptionists to be very rude. My mom dropped me till the class, I was quite sensitive, I did not want to leave my mom, but practically it was not nursery. The class teacher greeted me nicely. He was our English teacher. I found the infrastructure of the school quite fascinating. All the buildings were painted clean white, and every class had digital boards (or as we call it, smart boards). I waved my mom a goodbye, and she promised to come back to meet me in the seventh period, as she would be nearby the school, roaming around. I returned to the class. My teacher asked me to sit with a girl. Honestly, the class did not seem much friendly. I would madly miss my old school where I had an amazing group of friends. My mom told me that she would take me back there, in a certain period of time. Anyways, returning to the first day. In the English period, we did some chapter reading and grammar exercises. I was able to answer many questions, and felt on the top of the world.
The next period was the sports one, everyone had to go to their respective sport. I had none, so one of the girls took me with her to the table tennis venue. I sat there with some others, and made new friends from other sections. I  liked it there and decided to choose that as my sport later. I like indoor sports, as I am not quite sporty. Next period was Mathematics (I guess), the Mathematics teacher was nice and she asked me my name and previous school. We did the exercises of the chapter "Conversion". I answered some questions and again felt on the top of the world, because when you are new in a school, you have that 'I've got to prove something' kind of thing, and I had that in me *laughs*. The school used some other book. I missed my old book, because I was used to it. Next period was Hindi, the teacher was quite friendly, and she too asked me my name and my previous school's name. She also asked what book we were using in grammar in my previous school. Then she spent the whole period talking about how her brother got an admission into the top school of India (After hearing that I had come from the second best school of India). The next period was Science, the class had got a new Science teacher, and so, all of them were unfamiliar with her. I liked the new teacher, she seemed to be easy going. But I clearly don't remember what she did in the period. Then came the recess, I sat with 2-3 girls whom I had chatted with before joining the school. Everyone asked me to not sit with them, but I liked them, and found them to be interesting, so spent the rest of the day with them. They proved to be very helpful and nice later on. Sixth period was S.S.T, the S.S.T teacher was sweet, not so fluent in English, but it does not bother me. She asked me my name and welcomed me, but did not seem to be much interested. She distributed the test papers to the students. I was clueless about it, but the test seemed pretty easy. In the seventh period, my mom came to meet me, as she promised, and asked me how the first day was, I told her that I had liked it, clueless of the future. She asked me to come till the gate in the dispersal, and that she would pick me up. I agreed to her and went back to the class. In the last period, the students of my class raged a mini protest against the new Science teacher as they loved the old teacher. I found it to be very rude. I kept quite the whole time. The school only had eight periods. When the day ended, I went to the gate as my mother told me and she picked me up from there. Overall, it was an 'okay' day. I shared everything with my mom and dad and did some homework.

Keeping it Simple

Keeping it Simple The dresses you wear on a party night, The tears you shed for a stormy flight. The way you think the world sees you, Along with all the flaws and insecurities that drive you. Isn't it all hype? Why do we count our flaws, Midway between self-made laws. Who told us to be sad? Who told us to be scared? Who told us to mend every gap? So, why do we have to care? For 'tis forgiving that the world has forgotten, Often being vulnerable like floating cotton. Don't think so much, Just let it go, And watch your destiny open all the doors. You'll soon see a difference in the ocean shallow cradles, Light will drive away the clouds of darkness, And you'll finally see the shores.

Heal The World

Save water. Save trees. Save the environment. Save the ozone layer. Prevent global warming. Reuse, Reduce, Recycle etc. For many of us, these are just some slogans for a poster making competition, do we have the acuity to find the causes for these words, what are they?  Yes, In Science, we may have studied that if we don't save water, there will be a really difficult situation for us in future, for we will be struggling for a single drop of it. It's the state of abyss, for millions of people in many countries of South Africa and other places who are dying for water. What about trees? Have we ever had concern to just plant a single tree in a month, or at least a year or can we plant a tree on every birthday of our family members instead of having pizzas and loud parties. Most of us are having a sense of immortal bliss, that we are blessed with everything, and take everything for granted. Just thank God for what you have, even for the oxygen that you are inhaling.
